The Laredo is the base trim model that comes with the stock Grand Cherokee, establishing the starting feature selection and coming standard with a Jeep’s award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. The front of the Grand Cherokee totes Jeep’s classic vertical slotted grill, with 17-inch wheels and quad-halogen headlamps on either side, which activate automatically and are supplemented with premium fog lamps. Inside the SUV we see a dual-zone automatic climate control system come in standard, as well as a tilt/telescoping steering wheel that is leather-wrapped, split-folding rear seating for additional storage capability, and a full Uconnect 4 Multimedia system that is housed on a 7-inch touchscreen display with smartphone integration, USB ports, and six speakers. Jeep also integrates a great number of safety and security-based features, with some key ones including electronic stability control, hill-start assist, a park assist system, trailer-sway control, and rear cross-path detection.

The Limited trim starts off with features that make the Grand Cherokee easier and more convenient to operate, with features such as a powered liftgate, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, remote engine start, and a memory system for the power-adjustable mirrors, driver’s seat and steering wheel. The transfer case that comes with Jeep’s 4x4 configuration receives an enhancement as well, with a two-speed transfer case that comes with the handy hill-descent control safety feature. Some other key features brought in this trim include roof rails for more storage options, power-operated sunroof, larger 18-inch wheels, a convenient 115-volt power outlet, and a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen display.

The Trailhawk trim works off of the Limited trim’s feature list while adding in some extra off-road capability into the Grand Cherokee’s systems and features. Jeep brings in a Selec-Speed system as well as their torque distribution system, that allows you to adjust how power is distributed to each wheel depending on the terrain you are trying to tackle. The raised off-road suspension and underbody skid plates help protect the vital systems of the Grand Cherokee, and offer enhanced break-over and departure angles. Some other key features with the Trailhawk trim include all-terrain tires, a unique exterior design, and an electronic rear differential.

The Overland and Summit trim models continue to build in even more features that enhance the comfort and convenience of the Grand Cherokee. The engineered exterior of the Grand Cherokee receives some enhancements with features such as automatic rain-sensing windshield wipers and a body that is designed with active noise cancellation to reduce the sound generated from the road and powertrain systems. Jeep also brings in a luxurious perforated Nappa-leather upholstery with the seats that mesh well with the interior design of the Grand Cherokee. Some other key features that caught our eye include a Harman Kardon 19-speaker sound system, an advanced adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with active braking, and deluxe cargo compartments that come with a back cover.

If you are looking for high-performance powertrain systems that churn out intense amounts of horsepower and torque, the SRT and Trackhawk trims are what you are looking for. Taking each of the high-end features found from previous trim levels, the SRT and Trackhawk work in tuned systems and next-generation SRT tuned V8 engines, with each offering an exciting acceleration experience. In order to sustain and effectively transfer this power directly to the road, Jeep also brings in an SRT tuned suspension with active damping, a Quadra-Trac Active On Demand transfer case, all-season tires placed on large 20-inch wheels, and a Selec-Trac traction management system.
