The 2019 Dodge Durango has a lot to offer, starting with the engine selections. It offers a choice of a base 3.6-liter V-6 with 293 horsepower, an optional 5.7-liter V-8 with 360 horsepower (the Citadel model), and the most powerful option, a 6.4-liter V-8 with 475 horsepower (the SRT model). Engine power is routed through rear-wheel drive, with an 8-speed automatic transmission. With the largest V-8, the Durango is able to tow up to 8,700 pounds.

The exterior styling, despite some revisions over time, is still basically the same as previous models. A long-roof line hints of the station wagons once so popular in the U.S. The grill can make the Durango look truck-like in some ways, and that accentuates the overall beefy and muscular appearance of the car, setting it off from some of its sleeker, and more urban-looking competitors. The SRT model has a domed hood with functional air scoops.

In contrast to the rather bold look of the exterior, interior styling is familiar, with up to two touchscreens, three rows of seats (holding up to seven passengers), and optional leather seating. The dashboard is finished with soft-touch material. Interior room can be generous for cargo if the third-row seats are folded flat.

Handling for such a large and tall vehicle is good. The Durango deals well with being pushed on roads with curves and twists. But, despite its appearance, the Durango does not share off-road ability with a jeep. It has less ground clearance, and despite having all-wheel drive as an option, does not have low-range gearing.

The base model lists at about $31,000 and features are not skimpy. Go for uppermost SRT model and you might find the price doubles. But whatever your preferences, there is probably a Durango model that suits them.
